Owls Suffer 2-1 Road Loss
The game between Sapporo and Kyoto is in the books, despite a little rain.

Kento Okada pitched well, but his team, the Kyoto Owls, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Sapporo Bears at Sapporo Stadium. Yamada Yamanaka, the winner, improved to 6-11. He held the Owls to 1 run on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Shinichi Kanehara recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 25 for 28.

The Bears benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fourth. With Kai Yoneda at bat and Sapporo leading 1-0, the Kyoto miscue allowed Sapporo to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.

Yoneda called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."

With the win over Kyoto, the Bears improved to 59-80.
