| Rams Hayakawa No-Hits Reliables | The crowd could sense something special at Rakisuta Stadium. They seemed to get a little louder with each out, as it became clear to all that a no-hitter was in the works.
"It was like the playoffs or the BAN Championship Series," Sadato Hayakawa told the press after the game. "They were really getting into it."
With the raucous Rakisuta Rams crowd at his back, Hayakawa finished the job -- he held the Hosho Reliables hitless and beat them, 1-0. He totaled 12 strikeouts with 1 walk and faced only 28 batters.
"Today was my day and I got lucky," Hayakawa said. "I've had a couple of other shots that I've lost in the late innings and today I got through that and made it."
So far in 30 appearances this season, Hayakawa has recorded 13 wins and sustained 10 losses. He has pitched 228.1 innings, yielded 192 hits, fanned 172 and has a 3.15 ERA. | |
