| Victory Pushes Bears Record to 61-56 | In a tight tilt between the Sapporo Bears and the Hosho Reliables, Arata Komatsu was the deciding factor. The Sapporo right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. The victory gives Sapporo a record of 61-56.
Sapporo left fielder Tetsuya Tanaka contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 129th hit of the season and put the Bears ahead, 2-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Tanaka told the Sapporo Times.
