| Thrilling Victory Pushes Owls Win Streak to 5 | Kyoto and Sapporo scratched and clawed until someone claimed the prize.
In a low-scoring game between Kyoto and Sapporo, Kento Okada was fantastic. The Owls right-hander, who finished 5th in the EL in strikeouts with 200 in 1971, helped his team beat the Bears, 2-1, in 10 innings. The Owls go to 65-48, putting them second in the Eastern League.
The Owls nabbed the win, in part because of shortstop Bungo Arai. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered the game-winning run-scoring single.
"This joint was rocking," said Okada.
