Rakisuta left-hander Masakado Matsuda pitched his team to victory over the Kyoto Owls at Rakisuta Stadium. The final score was 5-4. Yamada Yamanaka earned the save, his 3rd. Rakisuta now has a record of 53-48 with the win.

The Owls had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Rams going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old third baseman Kihachi Harada came to the plate. Harada hit a bases-clearing double on a full count fastball from Kyoto hurler Kuniaki Usui. It was Harada's 21st double of the year.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Matsuda told the Rakisuta News.
