The Kyoto Owls picked up a win at Owls Park, knocking off the Sapporo Bears, 4-3. On the mound for Kyoto was right-hander Takamitsu Fujiwara. He played a key role in the triumph. Fujiwara picked up the win for Kyoto, going 7 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 12-5. With the win, the Owls improved to 63-48.

The Owls beat the Bears with some clutch hitting. The single by Manzo Yokoyama in the bottom of the seventh is a good example. With two down, Yokoyama gave his team the lead, 4-3, when he came through with the big hit.
