Rakisuta left-hander Sadato Hayakawa pitched his team to victory over the Yokohama Kingfishers at Kanagawa Stadium. The final score was 4-3. Hayakawa, the winner, moves to 9-7. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Zenichiro Tsuji recorded the save for Rakisuta, his 9th of the season.
Kiichiro Mitsui made it 3-2, in favor of Rakisuta when he delivered a 2-run single. It came with one out in the top of the ninth. The Rams went on to win.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Yokohama manager Tommy McDonell.
Rakisuta goes to 47-37, Yokohama to 44-42.
