| Kyoto Beats Sapporo, 4-2 | Kyoto turned a good effort from starter Norikazu Takai into a win over the Sapporo Bears at Owls Park. The Owls won the game, 4-2. Kenshin Kon got the save, his 19th in 26 chances. The Owls improved their record to 51-42 by beating Sapporo.
Toyohiro Wada, who is tied for 2nd in the EL in hits with 100, helped out the Kyoto cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the first baseman was 2-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI.
"Norikazu did a heck of a job," said Kyoto manager Tomoya Nagao.
