| In Extras, Bears Beat Kingfishers, 4-3 | Sapporo Stadium played host to some dramatic action.
The Sapporo Bears defeated the Yokohama Kingfishers, 4-3, in Eastern League action at Sapporo Stadium. Gunji Nakashima pulled his weight. The 12-year veteran was 4-6 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. Sapporo now sits at 36-56, while Yokohama falls to 36-55.
The decisive blow was delivered by Sukeyasu Arakawa in the bottom of the 15th when he hit a solo home run off 34-year old right-handed pitcher Wei-Tzu Otsuki to win the game for Sapporo. The home crowd went nuts.
"Big win," said Arakawa.
