| Owls Reel Off Another Win, 4-3 | The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at Owls Park.
Kyoto pitcher Ukita Tomita did his part in helping his team beat the Yokohama Kingfishers, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Tomita yielded 2 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 7-5. Matashichi Matsunaga earned the save for Kyoto, his 1st of the year.
In the bottom of the third inning, left fielder Shun Smith had a 3-run home run for Kyoto. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Owls on top, 3-2.
"The guys come to the ballpark ready," said Owls manager Tomoya Nagao. "They're going out there and doing the simple things right."
The current losing streak for Yokohama has reached 4 games.
