The Sapporo Bears defeated the Rakisuta Rams, 6-5, at Sapporo Stadium. Sapporo shortstop Shikato Murata had a superb performance. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs. The Bears sport a record of 30-44.

Masao Shiotani was 1-1 for Sapporo. The ten-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gunji Matsuda. It was his 13th RBI of the season.
