| Kingfishers Throttled by Owls, 5-1 | Kento Okada brought his A-game to help Kyoto defeat the Yokohama Kingfishers, 5-1. The winner was Okada. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Kiyoji Nakamura. The Owls have now reeled off 7 straight wins.
Okada had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the third for the Owls. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Kyoto trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.
"The guys are feeling pretty good about where they're at right now," said Owls manager Tomoya Nagao. "We have a lot of guys playing with confidence."
