| Reliables Drop Bears, 4-2 | The Sapporo Bears went down to defeat to Shirai Takahashi and his Hosho teammates. The final score was 4-2, in favor of the Reliables. The 'W' lifts Hosho's record to 36-27.
Hosho used the timely hitting of Masao Nakamura to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Reliables on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We had a good game plan," Takahashi said, "and we were able to execute it."
