Raucous Thompson Field Crowd Propels Dynamos to 6-2 Victory; Series Tied at 1 | Behind a bravura effort from starter Jack Miller, the Detroit Dynamos topped the Kansas City Kings by the score of 6-2 and got their first win in the 1955 World Championship Series. Miller threw 9.0 innings of 8-hit ball for the Dynamos. The win moves Detroit into a 1-1 tie with Kansas City.
The Kings had little chance against Miller, who overpowered Kansas City hitters and struck out 10.
"It has been an incredible experience today," Miller said in the clubhouse following the game. "It's a short list of people who have started in the World Championship Series at all, and an even shorter list who have done a good job of it."
The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 1st , 1955 at Prairie Park in Kansas City. | |
