Bears Get Past Yokohama for 3-2 Win
The Yokohama Kingfishers got a superb performance from pitcher Motokazu Oyama, but the Sapporo Bears still won the game, 3-2. Oyama threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Sapporo reliever Eisaku Yamaoka snagged the win, upping his record to 3-1. Yoisuke Nishizawa shouldered the loss. Sapporo has now won 3 in a row.

Nobuyori Toyama, who is tied for 10th in the EL in hits with 58, chipped in a run-scoring single for Sapporo in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
