| Nishio Swats 2 Homers, Owls Top Kingfishers, 7-1 | A 7-RBI performance from the two-time All-Star Naonobu Nishio helped the Kyoto Owls beat the Yokohama Kingfishers, 7-1. After today's action, Kyoto sits at 23-31, while Yokohama falls to 31-24.
Kyoto took the lead in the top of the fifth when Nishio hit a grand slam home run. His 7th home run of the season made the score 4-0, Kyoto.
"This is not a one-man show," said Nishio. "A lot of the guys stepped up."
