| Arakaki Baffles Sapporo Batters | Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Sapporo Bears as starter Morihiro Arakaki shut them out, 8-0, at Rakisuta Stadium. The Rakisuta pitcher struck out 6 and walked 0 while allowing 3 hits.
"Arakaki was good but he wasn't flawless," Sapporo manager Kenjiro Hirata said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Rakisuta, but this is on us."
