| With 10-3 Win, Kingfishers Improve to 31-23 | It might have been a rain-shorted game, but Kingfishers fans didn't seem to mind as long as their team got the win.
Yokohama third baseman Fujimaro Sonoda was instrumental in helping the Kingfishers triumph, 10-3, over the Kyoto Owls. Sonoda was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Yokohama pitcher Kinzo Yoshimura got the win. He's now 5-3. Toshimasa Kobayashi was tagged with the loss.
Sonoda had a key at-bat for Yokohama in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and gave Yokohama an early 4-0 lead.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Sonoda.
Kyoto now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
