| Bears Improve to 24-20 with 3-0 Win | The Sapporo Bears got a magnificent effort from pitcher Tomochika Takada, who kept Denki hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Bears win at Sapporo Stadium. Takada yielded no runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 7-4. Denki has now lost 4 straight.
The Bears got a big at-bat from shortstop Michihiko Ishikawa. For the game, Ishikawa was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Sapporo a 3-0 lead.
