| Bears Rack Up 2-0 Win Versus Kyoto | Owls Park was the site of a competitive game between the Kyoto Owls and Sapporo Bears.
Sapporo beat Kyoto on the strength of starting pitcher Tatsuki Nakagawa's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-0. Nakagawa yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-3. Eisaku Yamaoka closed it out for Sapporo, earning his 5th save.
In the top of the fourth, Gunji Nakashima delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Sapporo second baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Bears in front, 2-0.
Afterward, Nakashima deflected to his teammates. "Heck of an effort all around," he said.
By defeating Kyoto, the 5th-place Bears improved to 19-32.
