| Kingfishers Deal Owls 4-3 Loss | The Yokohama Kingfishers and Kyoto Owls completed their game despite the rain.
The Yokohama Kingfishers beat the Kyoto Owls, 4-3. Yokohama pitcher and Kyoto, Japan, native Kiyoji Nakamura led the way. Nakamura picked up the win for Yokohama, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-6.
Kunisada Kimura came through for Yokohama when he hit a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a two-strike fastball to right field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.
"Kiyoji didn't beat around the bush," said Yokohama field general Masayoshi Nozawa. "He was all business."
The 5th-place Kingfishers go to 16-28.
