| Reliables Trip Owls, 6-5 | The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
The 6-5 Hosho win over Kyoto was due largely to Tomohiko Hamano. The Reliables center fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Hosho reliever Tadahito Koike was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Tadanori Miyata. Kinichi Ota closed the door for Hosho, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Hamano had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-1 sinker from Tadanori Miyata, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Reliables a 6-5 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Hamano.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Hamano.
The Reliables raised their record to 7-8.
