The Houston Comets racked up a win at Patapsco Field, bumping off the Baltimore Clippers, 6-3. Joe McCarthy, who started for Houston, pitched effectively for his team. Houston's record now stands at 45-39, placing them second in the Federal Association West.

Houston used a clutch at-bat from Milt Rush to capture the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Comets ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Rush told a Houston Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
