The Hustlers first baseman banged out 5 hits in 9 at-bats at Maroons Field to lead his club past the South Bend Maroons. "I felt good in the batter's box," he said. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done." Rube Long grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th, tripled in the 13th, flied out in the 14th, grounded out in the 17th and singled in the 18th.
