Reliever of the Year Award Goes to Leeper
Saturday, September 27th , 1913
Pat Leeper said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 20 years old.

But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Rockford Hustlers rising star has won the Heartland League Reliever of the Year Award for 1913.

He captured the award on the strength of his 2.50 ERA over 86.1 innings. He also had 12 saves in 54 relief appearances, 77 strikeouts and only 43 walks.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Milt Molloy of the Terre Haute Coalers finished second in voting, while Bob Raines of the Grand Rapids Furnituremakers finished third.
