HL Most Valuable Player Award Goes To Deusenberry

When it came to hitting the baseball, Bill Deusenberry had few peers in the Heartland League this year. The gifted first baseman for Dayton tagged opposing pitchers for a .310 average and was voted the Most Valuable Player Award for 1916. Included in his season stats were 137 hits, 23 doubles, 14 triples, 3 home runs, 71 runs scored and 53 RBIs.

He ended up tied with Rich Jarrell with 84 total votes and 3 first place votes.
