 | Coalers Pilot Staten Picked as HL's Best Tuesday, September 26th , 1916 The Terre Haute Coalers coaching staff broke out the bubbly when Manager Lou Staten was announced as 1916 Heartland League Manager of the Year. He skippered the Coalers to a 77-64 record this year and a second place finish in the Heartland League. To a man, they all agreed that their boss was most deserving of the award.
