 | Wachner Superb Against Toledo Tuesday, July 25th , 1916 Lou Wachner was in a mood to talk following the Grand Rapids Furnituremakers contest against the Toledo Top Hats, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Top Hats, 4-0. "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Wachner said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again." The right-hander blanked Toledo on a 2-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up no strikeouts. This year, Wachner has a 13-11 record with a 4.49 ERA in 28 starts. |   |
