 | Paulk Slaps 5 Hits Monday, October 1st , 1917 Fred Paulk exploded for a barrage of base hits at Pacific Avenue Field. The Tacoma first baseman had a field day in his team's 4-3 triumph over the Seattle Warriors, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Paulk must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Fred Paulk singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. Currently Paulk is batting .355 with 14 home runs and 103 RBIs. | |
