 | Razor-Sharp Ratterree Blanks Seattle Monday, September 17th , 1917 Terry Ratterree was in a mood to talk following the Sacramento Maroons contest against the Seattle Warriors, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Warriors, 1-0. "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Ratterree said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again." The right-hander blanked Seattle on a 5-hitter, allowing 4 walks and racking up 4 strikeouts. So far this year, Ratterree has 21 wins and 15 losses and a 2.83 ERA. | |
