| Manager Buck Gets Walking Papers in San Francisco Wednesday, October 18th , 1916 The San Francisco Miners finally pulled the trigger today, firing manager Paul Buck.
Buck was rumored to be on the chopping block for some time, and the team ownership had apparently had enough of the club's lack of success.
"We had a good relationship, but we just didn't make enough progress under his leadership," general manager Lawrence Hall said. "We thought we gave him everything he needed for success, but it just didn't happen."
No replacement has been named. | | |
