| Hit Parade: Paulk Pops 5 Hits Tuesday, September 12th , 1916 Fred Paulk was sizzling at the plate. In a game played at Pacific Avenue Field, the Tacoma first baseman blistered the San Francisco Miners for 5 hits in 8 at-bats to pace his club to a good 5-4 victory.
"Paulk was too tough to get out," Miners skipper Paul Buck said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
Fred Paulk doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, flied out in the 9th, singled in the 11th, singled in the 13th and singled in the 16th.
