 | Hit Streak Now at 20 for Payne Sunday, September 10th , 1916 Ray Payne has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 23-year-old San Diego Missions center fielder extended his streak to 20 games, going 2-for-4 as San Diego got the best of the Tacoma Browns at Cowboys Stadium, 6-2. "Ray has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Missions manager Vincent Brooks said. Ray Payne singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far this season, Payne has 6 home runs and a .352 batting average. |   |
