| Yoshinaga Muzzles Fukuoka Bats Sunday, May 6th , 1962 The Nagasaki Stars did little to support starter Naoto Yoshinaga against the Fukuoka Falcons, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Falcons, striking out 9 and surrendering 2 hits. The performance from Yoshinaga allowed Nagasaki to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said, 'Naoto, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Yoshinaga told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
