#1 Pitcher Trophy Won by Bulls Oto
Friday, October 18th , 1974
In the twilight of his career, Tatsuharu Oto has no intention of going anywhere anytime soon. The 36-year-old Bulls starter hoisted up the Western League Noburu Kagawa Award earlier today, silencing critics who thought it was time for the "old man" to retire.

Oto crafted an ERA of 2.18 as he won 22 games, dropped 6, fanned 180 and gave up 31 walks in 264.1 innings of work.

He received 12 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Rei Matsumura of the Fukuoka Falcons finished second in voting, while Arata Komatsu of the Kobe Bulls finished third.
