Bulls Chill Takahashi Hot Streak
Saturday, September 7th , 1974
It was the best of both worlds for the Kobe Bulls at Kotei Stadium, as they defeated the Osaka Sailors, 8-5, and also snapped Tomohito Takahashi's 23-game hitting streak. The 24-year-old Osaka first baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Takahashi, we just wanted to win the game," said Bulls skipper Shojiro Tasaka. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Takahashi frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

This year, Takahashi has hit at a .284 clip with 42 RBIs, 3 home runs and 46 runs scored.
