 | Eastern League Announces Top Starter Sunday, September 1st , 1974 The Eastern League made it official today -- Kiyoji Nakamura of the Yokohama Kingfishers is the Pitcher of the Month. In August he impressed the sportswriters with his domination of league hitters. Nakamura made 6 starts, registered 4 wins and no losses with a solid 2.06 ERA. In 43.2 innings he allowed 28 hits, racked up 42 strikeouts, walked 11 and permitted teams to hit .184 against him. This season, Nakamura has rung up 10 wins and 9 losses in 25 games.
