| Manager Fittan Discharged by Trenton Tuesday, September 18th , 1917 A "difference of opinion" has cost Glenn Fittan his job as manager of the Trenton Artisans.
Following a postgame meeting with front office officials and ownership, Fittan left the ballpark without addressing reporters. It was then revealed by the team's general manager that Fittan had been dismissed from the club. Few details are available on the firing at this time.
"Basically, it just came down to a difference of philosophy between Glenn and management," general manager Ortega said.
When reached for comment at his Trenton home, Fittan refused to comment on the firing other than to say, "We just mutually parted ways. That's it."
The club will begin a search for Fittan's successor immediately. Several interviews have already been set up, but team officials declined to say who is on their list of possible replacements. | | |
