 | Industrians Show No Mercy in 9-0 Thrashing of Shipwrights Monday, September 4th , 1916 Paterson Industrians starter Tom Schultz really did a number on the Wilmington Shipwrights, shutting them out, 9-0, on 6 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 7 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Wilmington manager Al Easton. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Schultz." Schultz has made 36 starts, tossed 260 innings, struck out 151 batters and walked 102. His record is 16-14 with a 4.67 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .294 batting average. |   |
