 | Shipwrights Starter Wins AA Pitching Award Friday, September 1st , 1916 The Pitcher of the Month Award in August has been selected and the Atlantic Association honor went to Wilmington hurler, Dave Penn. For his excellent performance he has been named the league's top pitcher. During the month, Penn was superb with a 1.49 ERA and 4 wins and 1 loss. In 60.1 innings he struck out 21 and gave up 49 hits and 10 walks. In 27 starts this season, Penn has picked up 13 wins while suffering 12 losses. He has pitched 248.1 innings, allowed 273 hits, struck out 90 and posted a 4.13 ERA. |   |
