 | Kinboshi's Shimabukuro Snaps Up Player of the Week Monday, September 16th , 1963 The hottest bat of the week belonged to Kinboshi left fielder Taketoshi Shimabukuro. He went on a rampage last week against WL hurlers and rapped out 11 hits in 22 at-bats for a .500 average while hitting 5 home runs, driving in 8 runs and scoring 8 runs -- numbers quite worthy of the Western League Player of the Week trophy. Shimabukuro was honored today at a press conference. Shimabukuro is currently hitting .312 with 22 home runsand 73 RBIs, while scoring 82 runs. |   |
