| Hits Galore: Shimabukuro Drills 5 Hits Thursday, September 5th , 1963 Sueo Shimabukuro had an answer for everything the Nagasaki Stars threw at him at Nagasaki Prefecture Stadium. The Kinboshi first baseman went 5-for-6 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Kites a win, 11-5.
Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Shimabukuro said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."
Sueo Shimabukuro singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Akimasa Murakami in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
So far this season, Shimabukuro has put up a .266 batting average with 116 hits, 18 home runs and 60 RBIs.
