| Kobe Halts Shimabukuro's Hitting Steak Saturday, August 10th , 1963 Kinboshi left fielder Taketoshi Shimabukuro experienced something against the Kobe Bulls he hadn't experienced a while: a hitless game.
The Bulls pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak at 21 games, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Kites to a 10-8 victory at Konohana Stadium.
"Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 21-game hitting streak," Shimabukuro joked with reporters after the game. "Now you guys will have to find someone else to bother for stories."
In 90 games Shimabukuro is hitting .311 this season with 102 hits, 13 home runs, 53 RBIs, 29 walks, .376 OBP and has scored 55 runs. | | |
