 | Shimabukuro Stretches Hit String to 20 Thursday, August 8th , 1963 Taketoshi Shimabukuro has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The Kinboshi left fielder picked up 2 more today against the Kobe Bulls and now has a 20-game hitting streak. The Kites won the game, 4-2. "Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being." Taketoshi Shimabukuro singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th and tripled in the 8th. This season, Shimabukuro is batting .316 with 101 hits and 12 home runs.
