| .303 Average Wins Title for Jimbo Thursday, October 2nd , 1975 One of the more prestigious postseason awards is presented to the league batting champion.
The Eastern League recipient this year is Denki's 25-year-old center fielder Sukeichi Jimbo, who hit .303 over 134 games.
Included in this accomplishment were 156 hits in 515 at-bats, 20 home runs, 74 RBI and 99 runs scored. Jimbo spoke humbly to reporters about the award.
"It's such a difficult thing to do," he explained, "There are a lot of great hitters in this league and to outhit them all is very special." | | |
