Ed Brown of the Nagasaki Stars might be an old man, but he can still pitch with the best of them. Today the 36-year-old hurler snagged the Western League Noburu Kagawa Award honors for his outstanding 1950 performance.

He posted a 2.55 ERA with 19 wins, 10 losses, 137 strikeouts and 93 walks in 275 innings.

He received 12 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Norito Yamazaki of the Fukuoka Falcons finished second in voting, while Kyouhei Sakata of the Nagasaki Stars finished third.
