 | EL Premier Player Picked Monday, August 18th , 1975 Sapporo fans have something to crow about today as Sapporo left fielder Tomiyuki Kusumoto nabbed the Eastern League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Kusumoto. He posted a .500 average (10-for-20) this past week with no home runs, 4 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. This year, Kusumoto is batting .287 with 87 hits, 10 home runs, 46 RBIs, 38 walks, .377 OBP and has scored 43 runs. |   |
