 | Super Mound Work Earns Best Player Award Monday, August 11th , 1975 Rei Matsumura has been around Baseball Association of Nippon long enough to know that you don't win Player of the Week awards by being lucky. The Fukuoka Falcons hurler used his well-honed skill to put up superlative numbers last week against Western League hitters to take home the prize. Matsumura won 2 while striking out 10 in 18 innings. He also logged an ERA of 0.50 and held opposing hitters to a .136 average. So far this season, Matsumura has compiled a 9-6 record with a 1.85 ERA. |   |
