 | Iwamoto Snares EL Top Batter Award in July Friday, August 1st , 1975 When Toyoji Iwamoto stepped up to the plate in July he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Eastern League Batter of the Month award. The young Yokohama right fielder posted a .304 batting average with 13 home runs, 28 RBIs and scored 23 runs. Iwamoto also worked pitchers for 17 walks to post a .412 on-base percentage. This season, Iwamoto is hitting .279 with 74 hits, 29 home runs, 67 RBIs, scored 59 runs and played in 82 games. |   |
