Sato Is King of Swing: Goes Deep 3 Times
Friday, September 28th , 1962
Whatever Daijiro Sato ate for breakfast before his game against the Sapporo Bears, it gave him some impressive power.

The Yokohama shortstop smacked three balls up and out of the park at Kanagawa Stadium. His home run barrage helped the Kingfishers defeat the Bears, 13-1.

"When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all."

On his 3-homer day, he went 4-for-5, scored 3 times, drove in 8 and put on a display that history will remember.

Daijiro Sato hit a two-run home run off Mario de los Santos in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Mario de los Santos in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Kuranosuke Takashima in the 8th.

This season, Sato is swinging the bat at a .270 pace. He has hit 16 home runs and scored 75 times, while driving in 87. His on-base percentage is .348 and he has played in 132 games.
