Eastern League Selects Best Performer
Monday, June 9th , 1975
In the twilight of his career, 37-year-old Kinnojo Hirao of Denki recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the Eastern League Player of the Week Award.

"I've been playing since I was a kid," Hirao told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success."

Hirao outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 9 hits in 22 at-bats, 3 home runs, and 8 RBIs to stake his claim to the award.

This year, Hirao is batting .295 with 12 home runs and 26 RBIs. In 35 games he has scored 22 times.
