August's standout hurler was Jim Knox of Cedar Rapids. He muzzled Heartland League hitters and held them in check the entire month to capture the Pitcher of the Month award.
To win the honor Knox compiled an impressive 4-0 mark and 1.67 ERA in 6 starts. The Chiefs star hurler also rung up 34 strikeouts in 37.2 innings.
