Mike Fulton of Akron had an outstanding August with a 3-0 mark and was chosen the Pitcher of the Month in the Eastern Association.
He topped off the month with a 1.29 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 35 innings, fanned 17 and held opposing teams to a .189 average.

Charleston third baseman Joe Johnson was certainly bad news for pitchers in the month of August. He wore them out, going 38 for 104, and was rewarded with the Eastern Association Batter of the Month award.
He hit .365 with 1 home run, 22 RBIs and scored 20 runs.
