 | Redfield Removed in Richmond; Fired as Manager Tuesday, October 3rd , 1916 The Richmond Rebels have severed ties with their manager, Hal Redfield, announcing his firing this afternoon at a hastily called press conference. General manager Donald Lanning was quoted as saying the club has a lot of needs, beginning with a new skipper. "He did the best he could, but we just did not see the improvement needed to get our team in the upper echelon in this league," he said. "The time was right for us to part company." There's no word yet on who will be the new Richmond manager, although club sources say the list is short. |   |
